Would you like to feel comfortable and confident moving into deeper backbends?
Would you like to move into backbending postures without fear or pain?
In this workshop we shall look at how to stretch and strengthen the body to progress with backbends. Including more restorative work and active yoga postures, with variations to suite everybody.
We will delve into postures that can help deepen your backbends and techniques to help you move with comfort and ease, building towards urdvha dhanurasana (wheel) as our peak pose.
Who is this workshop suitable for?
Some experience of yoga is useful (this workshop is not suitable for complete beginners) but there is no expectation or requirement to be able to move into any specific postures to attend.
What to expect?
We will look at what is needed physically to move into backbending postures and work on lengthening the front body. We will explore the roles hips and shoulders play in backbending and when strength may be needed. We will explore backbends in a variety of ways, from more restorative positions to more active postures and finish with time to rest.
